Tried another approach, from bottom up instead of top down, since the roots on top were really tough to get through.
I was able to break up the root mat further out from the stump and work my way in to the center.
The roots grew horizontally instead of vertically. Really strange tree. Must be something like the platypus, an "oops" in nature.
The first stump was really easy to pull out. It wasn't very big. This is Dave, Chad's friend, who wanted to try out the tractor.
