Projects around the house fall of 2010

Removing the stump to make room for the eventual 2nd car garage. These things are sooooo fun, gotta buy one. Our neighbor, Chad, rented this one and then loaned us it for a day to see if we could remove some stumps or dig big holes. Well, we got most of the stumps out, the last one just turned into a big hole with a stump in the middle of it.

It worked great! Only broke one or two of the other tree's branches. The bad part was the rope snapped and the come-along flew and hit the tailgate of the truck breaking the tailgate latch. Oh well, it was $20 replacement online. It was still fun. The small stuff was put through the chipper and the larger pieces were added to the wood pile. hehe

Here some goof either planted a tree in front of the an existing shed or built a shed so the door is blocked by an existing tree, either way, I hope karma comes around to the goof. I found a fix for it though. I like the shed and wanted to move it, clear that corner of the yard and put a greenhouse there. Another fun project. That yellow rope you see, yeah, that was hooked to the truck to make sure the tree wasn't going to fall toward the shed and over the fence into the neighbor's pool. They're nice neighbors.

Taking another tree to the dump. This one was in the front yard by the fence. Amazingly it all fit. Chad, our neighbor, lets us borrow his trailer. Nice guy.

Finally staining the deck. It looks really good. Just have to fix the beams so the trees will stop lifting the deck/sunroom. Think we'll wait until next spring/summer to tackle that project.
